A website for a photographer’s work
I designed the website and supporting artwork for a wildlife and nature photographer who used the site to sell prints and share information about his photographs.
This project comes from my early graphic design and website work, when I was bringing visual presentation and web design together for artists and small businesses.
My role
I created the website design and supporting artwork. The photographs were the client’s work; my contribution was how that work was presented on the website.
The original portfolio identifies this project as “Artwork & Web Design” and credits the sheet to Brian A. Bowers.
A consistent visual presentation
The two surviving website views share a yellow-and-black palette, a serif wordmark, and photographic imagery. The entry page leads with the photographs. The interior page pairs a wildlife image with a compact block of information.
That shared visual language carries the presentation across the pages while giving the photographer’s images and accompanying information distinct places in the design.
The surviving work
The screenshots above are cropped from my original portfolio sheet in the 2006 archive. They preserve the historical design and browser framing. Their small original size limits the detail available today; they have not been recreated or modernized for this case study.
Connecting design with a practical purpose
The project connected the photographer’s images, information about them, and print sales in one website. Today, I help creative professionals and small businesses make their work clear and give visitors a useful next step.
